• Stay up with you when you were sick at night
• Sacrifice vacations so that they could send you to soccer camp, and you really weren’t any good
• Drive to school to bring you your lunch, when you forgot it again
• Put up with your pre-teen snarkiness without injuring you
• Listen to you cry over that boy when he cheated on you, and not say “I told you so” even though they did
• Still buy you those shoes at the mall even when you walked three feet ahead of them so that it would like you weren’t with them
• Raid their savings to send you to college

What you did:

• Buy them this crappy piece of pine from some souvenir shop to show your love.
